Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed by your professional mountain guide and transferred to your hotel in Moshi, the gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro.

Depending on your arrival time, relax at the hotel or enjoy an optional tour of Moshi town, coffee plantations, or local markets. In the evening, meet your mountain guide for a comprehensive trek briefing and equipment check to ensure you are fully prepared for your Kilimanjaro adventure.

Begin your Kilimanjaro adventure with a relaxing evening in Moshi while preparing for Africa’s highest mountain.

Day 2: Rongai Gate (1,950m) – Simba Camp (2,625m)

After breakfast, drive approximately 3–4 hours to the Rongai Gate on the northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan border. Following registration with the national park authorities, begin your trek through lush montane forest, home to a variety of wildlife including colobus monkeys and colorful bird species.

The trail gradually ascends to Simba Camp, located on the edge of the moorland zone, where spectacular views of the Kenyan plains begin to unfold.

Day 3: Simba Camp (2,625m) – Second Cave (3,450m) – Kikelewa Camp (3,600m)

Today’s trek leads through open moorland with breathtaking views of Kibo Peak and the expansive Kenyan wilderness. Stop for lunch near the Second Cave before continuing your gradual ascent to Kikelewa Camp.

This steady climb allows your body to begin adapting to the increasing altitude.

Day 4: Kikelewa Camp (3,600m) – Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,330m)

After breakfast, continue climbing toward the dramatic spires of Mawenzi Peak, Kilimanjaro’s second highest volcanic cone. Arrive at the beautiful Mawenzi Tarn Camp, nestled beneath towering rock formations.

Spend the afternoon relaxing or enjoy a short acclimatization hike around the camp.

Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,330m) – Kibo Hut (4,700m)

Cross the broad lunar-like saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks on your way to Kibo Hut. The terrain is barren and dramatic, offering spectacular mountain scenery unlike anywhere else on the mountain.

Arrive early in the afternoon to rest, hydrate, and prepare for the midnight summit attempt.

Day 6: Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Horombo Hut (3,720m)

Your summit adventure begins shortly after midnight. Trek slowly under a sky filled with stars toward Gilman’s Point (5,685m) before continuing along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa.

Celebrate your incredible achievement with unforgettable sunrise views before descending back to Kibo Hut for a short rest. Continue down to Horombo Hut for a well earned overnight stay.

After breakfast, descend through beautiful heath and rainforest to Marangu Gate, where you will receive your official Kilimanjaro summit certificate.

Meet your driver for the transfer back to your hotel in Moshi, where you can enjoy a hot shower and celebrate the successful completion of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
